The Yukon's many layers of history and beauty are very much a part of my persona. My husband and I raised our three children in the mining town of Elsa, which overlooks the majestic Mount Haldane and the incredible beauty of the McQuesten Valley. The Yukon's many layers of history and beauty are very much a part of my persona. My husband and I raised our three children in the mining town of Elsa, which overlooks the majestic Mount Haldane and the incredible beauty of the McQuesten Valley. I taught the art of Ceramics for approximately twenty years, beginning in Elsa, and continuing after we moved to Whitehorse, where I owned and operated Gloria's Ceramics until 1995. My acrylic and watercolour art is now a full time endeavor, and is currently available at my home studio as well as at Arts Underground Gallery, Midnight Sun Gallery, and Yukon North of Ordinary.

My mediums of choice are currently acrylic and watercolour , but I also love to experiment with various mixed media products and techniques, including airbrush. I believe that working in a single medium is restrictive to my artistic process. Each idea manifests in its own individual style.

Description
Garden Lily is a watercolour painting based on a photograph I took of Asiatic Lilies in my Yukon garden last summer. I was especially taken with the way the leaves and closed flower buds appeared to be almost three dimensional, so I tried to capture that in the painting.about this item
